A New Contract With America
1. Fiscal Responsibility: Whatever happened to the Balanced Budget Amendment.
2. Water: More should be done to preserve the water resources we have in the United States.
3. Remove Oil Dependency: Create a $1 Billion incentive program to the first company or person who develops an energy source that is environmently friendly and can replace our dependence on oil.
4. Mandatory Bi-Lingual Programs: We need to maintain stability with in our country and borders. Language bridges a gap between those who have no identification with our bordering countries. Student should be able to speak either French or Spanish. We need to develop a K-12 perspective in dealing with students that will not only be working in our country but working together to build a stronger country.
5. Change Election Days: Our elections for federal, state, and local need to be looked at to improve voter participation. I call on our government to create a election holiday over the weekend that would allow many voters to participate in our representative democracy.
